St. Norbert College receives first medical cart from alumnus

DE PERE (WLUK) -- A graduate of St. Norbert College is giving back to his alma mater.

Thanks to 2004 graduate and current CEO of Fairchild Equipment in Green Bay, Chad Fairchild,St. Norbert College athletics received its first-ever medical cart Tuesday.

According to director of athletics, Cam Fuller, this donation will help both student athletes and coaching staff.

“It will be really helpful in that rare instance where if a student athlete does get hurt, we have the ability to get them on and off the field safely to get them the medical attention they may need and for the every day work for our athletic trainers, whether it’s bringing water or equipment to the dugouts as you can see at baseball, they’re doing all that by hand now so to be able to have a cart will be really beneficial for the day to day," he explained.

Before the donation, the college had one cart stationed at Schneider Stadium. That created issues when the college had sporting events going on at bothSchneider Stadium and Mel Nicks Sports Complex at the same time.

Fairchild says he's happy to give back.

“I mean it’s really special, it’s neat having gone here and lived here, I come to basketball games, I come to soccer games, I come to track meets, I come to a lot of different events, so to be able to help and to be able to see this cart when I come to events in the future is going to be special," Fairchild said.
