Belal Muhammad confirms UFC 310 fight is off in worrying social media post from hospital bed

Belal Muhammad has confirmed MMA fans’ worst fears that he will not fight Shavkat Rakhmonov, by uploading a video of himself nursing his injuries from a hospital bed.

The welterweight titans were scheduled to go head-to-head on December 7 at UFC 310, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

With rumors circulating around the internet like wildfire that Belal Muhammad is injured and out of his first title defense, the welterweight King has taken to social media to confirm the dreaded news.

Having just conquered Leon Edwards in enemy territory with a tremendous performance at UFC 310 in Manchester, UK, Muhammad was excited to take the next step on his journey to solidifying his position as one of the best fighters in the history of the division.

After flying home with the belt, Muhammad quickly returned to training for a blockbuster showdown with Shavkat Rakhmonov.

The spectacular bout, pitted the two best in the weight category against one another, in a match-up that caught the imagination of fans.

In addition, it earned Muhammad a great deal of respect from the MMA community, who admired the champion’s willingness to fight the highest caliber of opponent possible.

Alas, the clash has fallen apart, with ‘Remember the Name’ posting a concerning Instagram video from his hospital bed, with a caption explaining the medical reason why he can’t participate at UFC 310, as well as a picture of the injury itself.

Muhammad said: “Caught a bone infection in my foot .. had to put a PICC line in my arm for IV antibiotics the next six weeks with no physical activity … Allah’s plan is the best plan. I’m sorry to everyone that were coming to see me. I’ll be back soon inshAllah.”

With Muhammad out of action for the time being, the December show needs somebody to step up to the plate.

Reports have suggested that Rakhmonov could fight Kamaru Usman for the interim championship belt.

And while that fight would be a cracker, another option has sprung from left field.

The UFC has reportedly reached out to one of the biggest stars in the company, in the hope he’ll save the day.
