Kylie Jenner Caught Breaking Safety Protocol In Her Makeup Lab

Kylie Jenner‘s makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics, has been one of the most successful ventures of her career. However, with success comes responsibility, and the 25-year-old makeup mogul has recently come under fire for neglecting safety protocols in her Milan, Italy laboratory.

In the May 31st episode of The Kardashians, Jenner was caught on camera seemingly dismissing basic lab safety procedures while visiting the facility. This, as many fans will recall, isn't the first time Jenner has been called out for safety violations in her lab. She was previously criticized for not wearing a hairnet, gloves, or a mask during a visit to the facility last August.

She shared photos and videos of that trip to social media, and many fans are pointing out that the moments shown during the episode appear to be from the very same trip. With clips of Jenner in the lab emerging on the internet again, fans and critics alike are continuing to express their concerns about her lax approach to safety on social media.

In an August 3, 2022 TikTok video, the reality star explained while filming her car ride to the facility: "So, we are in Milan for 24 hours to visit all of the makeup factories and check on new Kylie Cosmetics stuff coming that I am very excited about, and I wanted to take you guys along with me."

The only protective clothing that the mom of two donned was one singular lab coat, as fans began pointing out in her post's comment section at the time. Jenner was seen grabbing a spatula without wearing any gloves, and she wiped the contents to test on her hand. She then put it back in a glass container, and also, to many viewers’ surprise, rubbed a powdery substance with her bare finger.

In response to criticism that she received for her actions last summer, Timothée Chalamet's rumored new girlfriend wrote on Instagram to her 393 million followers: "I would never bypass sanitary protocols and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner."

The Kylie Skin founder continued in her August 4th message: "This picture is not taken in a manufacturing facility … That's completely unacceptable, I agree. This is a small personal space creating my own fun samples and taking pictures for content nowhere near the mass manufacturing."

One cosmetics developer Kevin James Bennett took to Instagram to accuse Jenner of lying to and "gaslighting" her followers. "I’m a cosmetic developer and work with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) as part of my job," he wrote on Instagram.

He added, "I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab or onto the manufacturing floor without a hair net, shoe covers, mask … and disposable GLOVES."

The critic continued: "I’d like to know what ignorant manufacturer (in Italy) let her stage this photo-op in their lab and on the manufacturing floor – without following proper sanitation protocols. Folks, this is not the way we create cosmetics and misrepresents how our industry works. Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you."

Jenner then told her followers that Bennet was "spreading false information." She also directly responded to him, writing,"No one is putting customers at risk!"
